I had a teacher in high school that we affectionately called Mr. O. This little guy here though doesn’t have a beard and doesn’t teach listless sophomores about details of Modern European History. This new Mr. O has only been around for about two and a half weeks. Isn’t he adorable? It’s usually hard to keep a newborn awake for longer than thirty minutes, but this sweetie stayed awake and alert the whole time.
No rainbows or sunsets here, but I love the big, blue sky. We have had a mixed bag of weather on vacation: overcast, to rain, to cloudy, to perfect blue. Here is a collection of sky snaps. Enjoy. SPL
So, I am sitting here in the kitchen of our lake house at Smith Mountain Lake and editing photos before the kids get up. Here are a smattering a photos from the vacation so far. There may be more tomorrow if I get my bum out of bed early enough.
This is my first entry in i heart faces Fix-It-Friday. Since I haven’t done this before, I didn’t realize that they wanted step-by-step instructions and I didn’t keep track. So, next time, I’ll be more attentive to my steps.
I enjoyed this exercise, taking a nice, but drab photo and turning it into something nicer. I hope I did that. Enjoy. SPL
We had an impromptu session with Hollywood, whose real name is Linder Lue Lawrence. She’ll tell you she’s going to be a star, and that you might not see her next week, because she’s going to California to be in the movies. She loves her birthday, too.
I have to give photo credit to my four-year-old, who took the first two photos (not bad for a small kids with a big DSLR). Hollywood is a character. You’ll see.
Here are more of the photos that I got from yesterday’s shoot. i heart faces only wants one photo per entry. I held out on you yesterday, but here are the rest. Enjoy, SPL
I couldn’t get together with her until today. I have been avoiding all household responsibilities to get this in on time. Clair Bear here loves the color purple and was more than willing to oblige my happy snapping. Patient until the end, she made it so easy for me. So, check out the entry…
I took the kids on a field trip the other day, because it was 102F outside and I wanted to do something fun, but indoors. We have been having what feels like record-breaking temps recently. I’m sure that there’s some Nino/Nina something-0r-other to explain the wacky weather.
However, for our outing, we decided on the Virginia Aquarium. It’s recently renovated with many more interactive exhibits for the kids (and parents, too.) Yes, I touched the snake, too.
I don’t tell everyone this, but I am crafty. Yes, I make crafts (but not in the hot glue gun kind of craft way, or the macaroni angel wreaths kind of way… not that there’s anything wrong with that– well, there is, but that’s a topic for another day.)
So today, I am releasing my inner-crafter as I saw this on Photojojo a few weeks ago. It mixes photography and cool crafting. That is something that I am all for. See the how-to’s here.
Maybe it’s time to release your inner craftiness. Throw down the fake flowers and floral foam and pick up a few photos, some scissors, tape, ruler and pen and try this…
