Who's a sucker for a big sky?

No rainbows or sunsets here, but I love the big, blue sky.  We have had a mixed bag of weather on vacation: overcast, to rain, to cloudy, to perfect blue.  Here is a collection of sky snaps.  Enjoy.  SPL

That’s my son skiing.  Doesn’t he look so little?

Moody blue sky that is threatening rain

That’s Smith Mountain (in Western Virginia)

Don’t count this as a sunset.

the color purple: i heart faces challenge

Today, I am entering an I Heart Faces Photo Challenge.

I couldn’t get together with her until today. I have been avoiding all household responsibilities to get this in on time. Clair Bear here loves the color purple and was more than willing to oblige my happy snapping. Patient until the end, she made it so easy for me. So, check out the entry…

She really wanted me to notice that she had painted her nails purple. Cute!

I am tooting my own horn

I won second place in a juried student exhibition at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center in Newport News, VA. It’s up until May 10, 2009 if anyone would like to see it.
Here here the two photos that are in the show. The first image is of my friend, Rachel’s daughter, Charlotte. This is the one that won second place.

The second image is of  my son playing the violin.  He doesn’t play the violin, but picked up one at a musical petting zoo.
